All ages and abilities are welcome and can be accommodated. Swimmers will need a swimsuit, water bottle, goggles and a towel. Payment is due before lesson start. We accept cash, check, or credit card (only at our concession stand during pool hours).

Instructors

Macy Lewis is a MRA Lifeguard and college student who has been teaching swim lessons for 4 years. Macy specializes in kids aged 4-7 looking to learn the basics. She is available most weekday mornings. Macy is lifeguard certified.

Emily Willard is MRA’s Head Swim Coach and was the Assistant Coach for three years prior. Emily was a year-round swimmer for six years, and a summer swimmer for 11 years. Emily specializes in working with children of all abilities, ages 4-16. Emily is lifeguard certified.

Katie Willard is MRA’s Assistant Swim Team Coach and has been a Marlin for 11 years. She is currently a competitive swimmer for NOVA and MHS, swimming year-round for 10 years. Katie loves working with both new and experienced swimmers. Katie is lifeguard certified.

Alana Walker is the MRA Lifeguard Manager and a Behavior Intervention Teacher. Alana swam competitively in the Virginia Beach Swim League, lifeguarded, and previously taught swim lessons. She has a Master’s in Education from the University of Richmond and has taught K-12 Special Education in private and public schools for the past 18 years. She looks forward to fostering a love of swimming in people with disabilities of all ages. Alana is lifeguard certified.
